Applications for the Touch Activist Program 2026 Cohort are now open. Online classes begin in August and conclude in December, with an In-Person Immersion in Montgomery, Alabama.

The CUT Project began when Aaron Johnson began noticing and tending to his own need for tender platonic touch, and investigating why as a Black man, access to this fundamental part of being human was so elusive. He created an ongoing and evolving touch plan for himself that includes the core components listening, earth, and song, to increase his access to tears and tender touch.
